1)
Since the 1. of July 2010 NTI CADcenter has been working with
Moldflow and Moldflow customers in Scandinavia, and it has been
very exciting to cooperate with you. We feel a strong commitment to
give Moldflow customers the best service and assistance we can, and
we hope you all will have the opportunity to use our engineers in
sales and support. We are keeping up the pace on our Moldflow
skills to help you. We have been certified into the Autodesk
training system, and we are getting "real work" experience from
projects at customers site.
Right now we are preparing to offer Moldflow training for both
Insight and Adviser solutions, and we will try to cover a lot of
destinations. Below you will find the first initiative for a
training session in Gothenburg.
Also we will formalizes information for you in a "Newsletter"
to keep you updated on the Moldfolw business and progress. More
will come in the future.
We hope you will enjoy this Moldflow information.
Best regards
Mohsen Hessami

Moldflow Adviser training course in Gothenburg
Moldflow Adviser training course will be conducted in Gothenburg on
the 9 th and the 10 th of December 2010. This 2 days
training, will giving the user skills to operate the Moldflow
Adviser solution, and to better understand and analyze the results
of the simulation. Also best practice will be trained to optimize
the time used on the system.
Moldflow Adviser course, 9 th-10 th of December. e-mail to: nrc@nti.dk

Autodesk Moldflow Structural Alliance 2011 for Abaqus
08-26-2010
Autodesk Moldflow Structural Alliance allows structural Engineers
to make use of mechanical properties calculated by Autodesk
Moldflow Adviser and Insight injection molding simulation software.
Using material properties calculated by Autodesk Moldflow Adviser
and Insight is particularly critical when using fiber filled
polymers, as the products stiffness is largely determined by the
manufacturing process.
Autodesk Moldflow Structural Alliance uses a mapping process to bring the mechanical properties that are calculated on a Dual Domain or 3D model in Autodesk Moldflow Adviser and Insight to the Structural Analysis package. The mapping process allows the Autodesk Moldflow products and the Structural Analysis package to use the mesh that is best suited for the application. As a result, the Structural Analysis on the plastic part or assembly can be done quickly, without compromising accuracy.
Note that Abaqus 6.7 or 6.9 have to be installed on your machine, prior to the installation of Autodesk Moldflow Structural Alliance 2011 for Abaqus, and is only supported for Windows platforms.
4)
Radium Technology Preview II: The Empire Strikes Back
09-10-2010
The second technology preview of Project Radium for Moldflow
Insight users is now available on Labs. The second Moldflow Radium
Technology Preview has improvements in all areas of Technology
Preview 1.
The Autodesk Moldflow Radium Technology Preview showcases some of
the next generation capabilities for Autodesk Moldflow
Insight:
1. A new short fiber orientation model developed in collaboration
with Delphi and the famous Professor Charles Tucker from the
University of Illinois. Autodesk Moldflow has the exclusive rights
to this technology.
2. A brand new Long Fiber orientation model, the result of a
collaboration with partners like the Pacific North West
Laboratories and the US Department of Energy in the context of the
freedom car project.
3. Crystallization kinetics. The way semi-crystalline materials are
processed and solidify in a mold can greatly influence their
physical properties and shrinkage. Moldflow has worked with
research and industry partners for over 10 years on the ability to
capture the true behavior of these plastics. With the Radium
technology previews, this is the first time customers can work with
this technology.
4. A new Transient Cool solver, allowing the calculation of not
only a cycle averaged mold temperature for 3D models, but also the
mold temperature throughout a steady state temperature, and/or the
heating up of a mold to a full production state.
5. The ability to explicitly specify mold venting locations on the
mold. When a mold is insufficiently vented, the air in the unfilled
cavity cannot escape efficiently and will build up pressure. This
can result in unfilled products and visual defects of the
parts.
5)
Free Moldflow Technology Preview: Cumulus, analyses in the
cloud
07-26-2010
Autodesk made a free technology preview available, that uses Cloud
Computing for computationally intense tasks like analyses and
meshing. The ability to use the massive computing power of the
cloud, allows you to boost your productivity. It allows users to
submit extremely large analyses, as well as run many analyses
(manually or through a DOE) at the same.
Access to the computing power of the cloud is free to Autodesk
Moldflow Insight customers on active subscription, and will be
available until Mid October. But there are only limited spots
available.
